Self-Esteem, Decision Fatigue & Growth – A Real Talk Stream Recap
Today, I decided to do something different on stream. I checked out the demo for Schedule 1, but more importantly, I wanted to have a real conversation about some things that came up in therapy—things that I know others struggle with too.
Struggling to Accept Compliments
One thing I’ve realized is that I don’t know how to accept praise. When Yess tells me I’m doing a great job around the house, I freeze up. It’s not that I don’t appreciate it—I just don’t know what to do with it. Growing up, I wasn’t really shown how to take compliments, and now it feels uncomfortable.
I asked my chat: "How do you handle compliments? Do you embrace them or struggle like I do?"
Decision Fatigue & Low Mood Days
Moving has been stressful, and even small decisions feel like too much. The other day, I needed deodorant. Simple, right? But when I got to Walgreens and didn’t see my usual brand, I just stood there, overthinking it. I ended up grabbing a random one at the last second while in line.
It reminded me how even in games, I hesitate over choices—what class to pick, what skills to upgrade. Decision fatigue is real, and it’s exhausting.
I opened up the chat: "How do you make decision-making easier when you feel mentally drained?"
When Small Things Ruin Your Mood
Sometimes, a single comment can throw off my whole day. It’s something I want to work on, but it’s hard. I talked about Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and how my brain resists certain expectations, even when they’re harmless.
I asked the viewers: "Do you ever feel like a tiny moment or comment shifts your entire mood?"
Cannabis & Mental Well-Being – My Research & Experience
I’ve done my own research into cannabis and how different strains affect me. Some help me focus, others ease social anxiety, and a few are great for pain relief. I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but I’ve learned a lot from experimenting (safely, of course).
I shared: "Most people think cannabis is just one thing, but there are so many variations. I’ve found what works for me—what about you?"
Wrapping Up
Even if no one showed up for the live stream, this conversation is still worth having. I’ll be repurposing this for YouTube and short-form content, so if this resonated with you, let me know in the comments. Let’s keep the conversation going.
